It’s not hard to hire a photographer to take some beautiful photographs of your special day, but what happens when you actually have them? For some people, framing them and hanging them up like any other photo won’t be enough: they need to bring the magic of their wedding day back into their home with a display that stands out from the rest.
DIY Wallpaper
Some people like to turn book pages into a fancy DIY wallpaper design, so why not do the same with printed copies of your wedding photos? It doesn’t have to be the entire room – maybe just one wall or a small alcove, or even just above a fireplace – and you won’t need to spend much money on putting it together. If you’re not a fan of cluttering your wall with pictures, mix the photos in with book pages and blank sheets of paper to add more space between them, so that each memory stands out a little more.
A glass case
Protecting your photos, even if they’re copies, can really express how much they mean to you. There’s no better way to do this than a glass display, whether it’s a wall-mounted shelf, a raised case or an inner layer of a glass-topped coffee table. Not only will this keep them safe from water, pets and curious children, but you’ll also be able to display them alongside other things – maybe you kept a copy of a speech from the wedding or the groom’s tie, things that you don’t want to lose.
A printed collage
A good photo collage can compress a lot of history and memories into one simple decoration, which is great if you don’t have the space, time or desire to set up something more elaborate. Getting one printed also means that you won’t have to risk losing any physical copies you have, and most printing companies will make sure that the finished collages can withstand a lot more than paper photos, meaning that you can put them in any room you want.
A book
Having a scrapbook full of pictures, text snippets, dried wedding flowers and handwritten notes about your wedding can be an amazing idea for more private couples. If you don’t want to share too much about your romantic life with visitors, keep it to yourself and chronicle the highs and lows of your relationship in a two-person scrapbook.
A dedicated shelf
There’s nothing wrong with using regular frames if you still want to, but there are far more interesting ways to display them than just putting them on desks or fireplaces. Setting up a special shelf just for your wedding pictures and souvenirs can help keep everything in one place, and you can even turn it into a general “memory shelf” if you have room left over.
